Winsted The old Winsted library had already been converted to apartments and commercial space when Treant purchased it in 2004. Unfortunately, it was in rough condition, and an addition on the back of the building was starting to collapse. Working around existing tenants, the entire building is being remodeled, including a larger new addition with much friendlier living spaces. Much of the unique character of this historic building is being revealed during construction. For example, when the first floor apartment was gutted, 16’ high tin ceilings and wide doorways with transom windows were found beneath the existing walls.
